I just decided to install Drupal to make managing the website more efficient. I've been considering installing a CMS for a while. I've not made any significant additions or changes to the website in the last 2 years ago, mainly because I've found myself too busy with the MBA and the family. So, I think installing Drupal was a good step in making the update process less painful so that I can add stuff on impulse. I also want to turn it into the family website, so I need to make the system easy enough to use so that Dalia, and eventually Omar, can add content and photos to the site themselves as well.
It's still basically just a fresh installation of the software though, which I'm keeping separate from the live powerpassion.net website until it's ready to go public. Over the next couple of weeks or so, I will be porting over all the content from the old website, as well as configuring Drupal to look and work the way I want it. In the process, I will be modifying the structure of the website as well, as I'm finding the old strictly topical structure a bit of an overkill. Dalia is helping me with the graphical design and layout too, so it's going to be exciting!
